Ponyo

I got around to watching "Ponyo," the latest film from Hayao Miyazaki, last night. It's the most awesomely adorable thing ever. And having seen several Miyazaki films, that's saying a lot.

Here's the adorable end credit song (in Japanese).

I'm going to Taiwan and Tokyo for a a couple of weeks, starting this Thursday. I don't know if I'll be able to update from the road. If not, I'll see you guys when I'm back.

Pretty sure we will have to see this soon. It looks adorable. I think Q's favorite Miyazaki so far is Totoro, which also has the catchiest theme song.

Safe travels...

I haven't seen Totoro in years (although I just added it to my Netflix queue), but as unbelievable as it sounds I don't think it's as adorable as Ponyo.

Thanks for the recommendation on Ponyo. I'm always keen for getting more names of movies I should see.

Have a safe trip!

Ah. Well, if you've never heard of this movie, I should tell you that -- if it's not obvious -- it's a kids movie. It's aimed at 5 year olds. But if you've never seen any Miyazaki, I should also tell you that it's brilliant. Any Miyazaki is brilliant. My favorite is Spirited Away, although everyone seems to have a different favorite.
